Residents of Redruth will have the opportunity to quiz local Councillors on Wednesday 11th August when Henry Biscoe and Clive Bray will be in the Council Chambers, Penryn Street between 7 and 9 p.m. as the Town Council holds its monthly surgery. The surgery is informal and offers an opportunity for people to discuss local issues and get information about what is happening in the town. Come along – no appointment necessary! The next Monthly Meeting of the Town Council will be held on Monday 26th July 2010 in The Chambers, Penryn Street, commencing at 7:00 p.m.
There is a 15 minute public participation session where members of the public are able to put questions to Councillors. So come along and be heard.
TOWN COUNCIL ELECTIONS - 29TH JULY 2010
Residents of the south ward of Redruth will go to the polls next Thursday, July 29, to elect a new town councillor. Two candidates, Mary McWilliams representing the Liberal Democrats and Linda Moore from Labour will fight a by-election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of John Hayward.
No poll cards have been sent out in an effort to keep costs down. Any elector living in the Redruth (South) ward can still vote by turning up at their usual polling stations at Trewirgie Junior School Annex, or Carn Brea Village Institute, and those who normally use Gweal-an-top school should now use the Church Vestibule in Redruth Methodist Church.
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.
